Charter and Rules

Blood and Rank came together in 2016 as the "BNR: Legends" server, an EverQuest community project. We also began the very first Blood and Rank World of Warcraft guild that same year on the Nerzul server. Over the next several years we have built a foundation and a group that has lasted until today, friends from across the globe who enjoy coming together to play games across many platforms! We are a versatile organization consisting of both players and content creators, and we are always happy to provide a place to play as well as training up the next generation of future Developers and GMs! While our group is very established we thrive on bringing new members into the fold, and if you are interested in being a part of the Blood and Rank experience we have a place for you! 

Objectives

As an established EQEmu Server we aim to provide a place for both PVE and PVP players to have fun and accomplish their own goals. This includes scheduled weekly Raids, GM Events, and Morale and Welfare events such as Games, Giveaways, and Contests. Our server has been modified to fit a vision many worked hard together to realize, one in which players can enjoy a 99% legitimate Omens of War server with all encounters from Classic to Omens having been balanced for a smaller population. Most of our raids are designated for either 9 or 18 character content and along with our Quality of Life enhancements and a thriving population this makes our server a premium place to play EverQuest with friends! We aim to be here for the long haul; and as such prioritize avoiding burnout, taking breaks when needed, and playing the game the way you enjoy over what is "the best".

Code of Conduct

We're seeking players that have four unique qualities:

• Friendliness, Open-Mindedness, Ambition, and Camaraderie.
  • Friendliness - treat server members and staff with respect and dignity, while also representing the server well in the public arena; Blood and Rank is our home and we will protect it's reputation. In a group of our size not everyone will be best friends, and that's okay, but everyone can and should be civil.
  • Open-Minded - keep an open mind when interacting with others. We are multinational, multiracial and comprised of a wide range of ages.
  • Ambition - to help achieve the goals of the server, each other, and to want to build something bigger than ourselves; we better each other when we strive to be our best.
  • Camaraderie - there's someone behind every character you play with in this server. Respect them, learn with them, make memories with them and kill dragons with them. After all in the end, that's what we're here for, right?
  • Note: We want Blood and Rank to be an inclusive place to play games. By this token we ask our members to refrain from abusive, hateful, political, religious, or otherwise intentionally divisive rhetoric. We are also an adult server, meaning there is a possibility you will see profanity or adult talk while here.

Scheduled Events

Our scheduled events are posted a few days ahead of time in our Discord server, and we have run raid events in three different time zones so far. We also provide server events and older raids throughout the week to help folks on their gearing and Epic progress! All events will be posted ahead of time and will allow applicants an adequate opportunity to attend!

• In general, the minimum we ask from our event attendees is:
  • Know your character's class, abilities and limits.
  • Listen to and work with other players to accomplish goals.
  • Keep chat and Discord clear during boss fights or new content.
  • Be as geared as you can and prepared to play; with spells, items, and flags/keys.
  • If you go AFK, let someone know. 

We have a mixture of experienced and dedicated players, along with first time and returning players; and we are proud to say we even have a younger generation with us at times. Raids and events are not mandatory and you will never be penalized for missing one, showing up late, or leaving early. We do not have a loyalty or priority system for determining who may come to and participate in our events.

Loot Distribution

We distribute loot at our events through a fair system,one modeled after Need Before Greed random rolls where each person is allowed one roll and there is no limit to the amount of items a person may win, allowing all attendees regardless of gear or experience level to have equal access to loot they can use. The staff or at times members who run the raids will do their absolute best to resolve matters of discussion or hesitation quickly so as to guide the group to an amicable solution should a situation ever arise. These loot rules are presided over by a Master Looter who will help the raid to follow these rules. If you have questions, comments, or concerns about loot please reach out to a server staff member!   

• Note: these rules only apply at server-run events, individual guild or public raids will need to declare their loot system before a boss is downed and all members killing a boss with such a group agree to follow said rules. We do not interfere in guild or public raids if at all possible, please resolve those issues internally.

Absences

As aforementioned we believe that a healthy player is a good player and as such we encourage each of you to take time off and take care of yourselves between play sessions. If the time comes where you need an extended break we understand that as well and you should feel free to reach out to a staff member if you are worried about the state of your characters while you are gone! We are happy to hold your place until you return, because we understand that life happens.
